Michael Bell Memorial Awards 2015

The winners of the 2015 Michael Bell Pro-Life Awards have been announced.  There were winners in both catagories as follows:

Individual Award

M.Jean Bruneau – Mauritius.  Jean has been an expression of a real “prisoner of love” among prisoners within the vicinity of prison buildings.  He has demonstrated what can be accomplished when a person is totally focused. He has been a true expression of his Faith, hope and morality and love for his brethren. He fought to overcome various problems and difficulties experienced by the prison population most of whom came from under-privileged regions

Organisation Award

Personal Advocacy Service – Australia.    This agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth was established in 1989 in response to parents who were seeking ways to enrich the lives of their sons and daughters with intellectual disabilities.  They wanted opportunities for their sons and daughters to be included in community life and valued for the contribution they could make to the local community. As an organisation it provides a unique type of advocacy that is based on one-to-one relationships between people with intellectual disabilities and volunteers from the local “Service and Christianity” community.
